OUR VISION
A world in which all people can develop their talents and access funding to address the environmental and related challenges facing our country and the world regardless of their gender or race.

OUR MISSION

To fund and develop promising Afro-descent, Indigenous, women of color-led or benefitting climate impact organizations, providing accessible, affordable, scalable technologies that also promote “ecohealth,” the holistic social, economic, public health and environmental well-being of people and the planet.

In service of these goals, The WISE Fund supports the following programs:

Funding Equity & Social Investment Development

We support initiatives to ensure all innovators have fair access to community improvement capital. Public awareness and systems change campaigns such as Black Philanthropy Month (BPM), the Global Funding Equity Principles and Pledge., as well as BPM spinoff, AGAPE, A Global and Pan-African Philanthropic Economy, help engage more people as donors and increase community access to funding worldwide.

Since it was established, BPM has reached roughly 19 million people around the world. This program mobilizes and educates grassroots donors through research, policy reform and programming to expand people of color’s access to private capital to address issues of environmental, social and racial justice.

BackBlack, a WISE partner, leads the August BPM awareness campaign; we collaborate on AGAPE; and WISE continues to support Dr. Copeland’s groundbreaking Black Diaspora philanthropy research. WISE YOU Global Community™ 

Using novel virtual and other technology tools, the WISE YOU Community provides peer support as well as life and career coaching to promote successful leadership and wellness in a time of crisis. In partnership with award-winning tech company Flerish, WISE YOU is a global network of Black women funders  and allies, including Reunity™,the Pan-African Women’s Philanthropy Network, giving since 2001.
