The WISE Fund is dedicated to promoting women-led and serving ecohealth tech solutions in disadvantaged Indigenous and Afro-descent communities of Africa, Australia, Brazil, India and USA.

Ecohealth is an ancient principle recognizing humanity as part of its natural environment. Destroying the balance of the natural environment eventually destroys animal and human life. A healthy environmental is essential for healthy people and livelihoods.

The current COVID-19 is a tragic, real life lesson of what can happen when the balance of nature and humanity is toxic.  Animals sickened by the destruction of natural habitat and global warming pass on disease to humans and a pandemic is born that has the world advancing to global recession in less than two weeks.  This will pass but not after untold destruction of life and financial fortunes, affecting the most disadvantaged most.  Women bear the brunt of environmental decline.

A concept created by WISE Fund founder, Dr. Jackie Bouvier Copeland, Ecohealth Tech, which she also calls “femecotech,” is not just “green” tech.  Led by women, it is specifically tech that promotes public and women’s livelihoods while advancing sustainable natural environments.  This approach builds on the now widely accepted research acknowledging that long-lasting economic and environmental sustainability are only possible if the rights and ingenuity of women is included, empowered and respected.  There are many promising femecotech approaches. Our hope is that you will join our bottom-up movement to unleash women’s technology to heal the planet before it’s too late.
